OBJECTIVE
Design the app interface of the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. Basic flight information for the departures and arrivals and information about the airport itself were important
design criteria.
MOOD BOARD AND GOAL
The goal of this interface was to be accessible for new flyers struggling to find their flights and flight information. This reduces the stress for them and users who pick up others. An emphasis on contrast and a clear information hierarchy was important to for a relaxing interface.
HIERARCHY DECISIONS
Creating hierarchy maps determines what information users need to see first. These are lists of hierarchy ideas for the departures/arrivals screens and the additional information screen.
EARLY SKETCHES
The app layout is based on the iPhone 14 Pro screen. The iterative process included playing with different layouts and hierarchies, and slowly building a design system with typography and design elements.
DIGITAL ITERATIONS
Digital versions of the sketches were created on Figma, finalizing the informational hierarchy, and emphasizing them with different typographic weights, sizes, and colors.
